Jorge Ojeda is Senior Vice President of Collateral International, LLC and New South Federal Savings Bank in Birmingham, Alabama. New South operates residential mortgage loan production offices in 13 states.

Jorge has been in Mortgage Banking and Finance for 25 years having started his career with HFC and has also worked with Norwest and Wells Fargo. He has been involved indirectly in the Mexico lending program at Collateral since 2001, and was placed directly in charge of the program in March 2005. Jorge is a Chilean born U.S. Citizen who has lived in Maryland, Florida and Alabama. He is bi-lingual in English and Spanish. International Banking has been in the Ojeda family as his father worked and retired from the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. Jorge is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Business Management.

Jorge has participated and been a panel speaker at numerous conferences pertaining to Mexico real estate and financing Mexico properties.  The conferences at which Jorge has been featured as a panelist/speaker include:

Jorge is a Professional Member of the International Mortgage Lenders Association. He is also a member of the Alabama and National Mortgage Banking Associations through New South's participation, and he has participated in several national and state level conferences. He has been recognized as Employee of the year while at Norwest and been among a select group of management that has been placed in Leadership development training.

Jorge recognizes the similarities and the differences between lending in the U.S. and lending in Mexico. He is working with both U.S. companies and Mexican companies to strengthen the common ground both share in mortgage lending while striving to improve the closing process in Mexico through partnerships being established with Mexico developers, attorneys, title companies and closing support services.
